Purpose
So many times people ask
Why am I here, what’s the task
Who’s in charge has control
Created this, made my soul
If there’s caring, so much love
From a Creator up above
Why have sadness, hurt, and pain
Why not just love, what’s to gain
So much human frailty
Makes it so hard to see
Faith and trust in knowing
We’re in His garden growing
Things that feed and nurture
Not always what we wish they were
As children we don’t always see
Our needs for our eternity
Through the joy and pain
Great wisdom ours to gain
Enriching for our soul
As we learn and we grow
Greatness we will reach
Through the joy and strife
These lessons that will teach
Bring meaning to our life
When the sunshine comes around
And we hear a joyful sound
In His presence we will be
Crying out, sweet victory
The time will come at last
Leaving the pain in the past
All that remains from before
Lessons leading to the door
When the leaves are falling
And our Father is calling
No fear of the season
Knowing a greater reason
When the cold winds blow
Don’t cover up and hide
Be free and just let go
Have faith, enjoy the ride
