Generally not, because we are all individual and unique, and we all have our own personal journeys to go on. Sometimes we’re ahead, and sometimes we’re behind. However, the occasional comparison with another can be useful when they are setting a positive example. For instance, I used to work with a girl who was much younger than me, but seemed to be very competent and inspiring for her age, and decided that this was an example I would like to emulate. So I sought to do that.
