The problem with old music is the production quality. Modern production is much clearer and easy to listen to. The main problem started in the disco era when drum machines went mainstream, and now most of the noise out there is all done by the machines. If you play an instrument then you understand that the touch is what makes music. A little bit lighter or harder or leaning back on the rhythm or leaning into it comes from the feel and it makes a big difference when it's soulful, so what I like is real live people touching their instruments with the clarity of modern production techniques. There is some good music around. Actually, musicians these days are technically better in general than the old timers were. Musicians like Adele are fantastic, and you guys just listen to this song by The Waifs (2007) and hear how masterfully it is played together
