Voltaire saw it as it really is.

The word resurrection we have simply replaced with the word recycling.

Being born is an amazing moment, it's also a very weird moment and should in fact be viewed upon as being impossible. Personally I have more than 8 decades behind me and I am still amazed at being 'me'. Now, doddering towards death I'm happy about all there is.

I almost certainly asked my mother 'where did I come from' but she couldn't tell me - probably hinted at a stork. No-one I have ever met in any form has ever been able to tell me from where I come although there have been plenty of wild guesses. None have ever borne fruit.

Had she said 'you come from the same place you will be going back to when you die', I'd later have called her words 'hitting the nail on the head'.

There is one reality we are all familiar with - we call it the universe. Our solar system occupies a teeny-weeny corner of one galaxy and there are said to be billions if not trillions of galaxies. Someone once said, 'there are as many stars and planets in the universe as there are sand corns on all the beaches of the Earth. We now know that he wasn't far off. Even using the fantastic attribute of imagination we cannot envisage just how, where or why other life forms could exist. If we look deep down into the oceans of the planet and see the varieties of life possible under other conditions of those known to us we can get a slight idea - maybe.

And we can say almost with certainty that the whole universe - like everything else will be recycled - that is to say reborn. Whether it will be recognisable or not is another question.

That a wheel turns and starts anew again is the first law of the universe. This law is valid for every form of life and for everything else too. Everything gets reborn in one way or another. We, being part of all there is have no other choice than to partake of these changes - if we don't have any awareness or consciousness we won't know.

Life as we know it from being part of it has its fundament in being present in the HERE and in the NOW.

There is nothing else.

To be continued.
