In my view, meditation is simply thought rested awareness, a dynamic stillness, receptive and acceptant to embracing both rippleless silence (void) or energetic currents (magnetism, sound, light, fragrance), as may arise, without any expectation on our* part (*we are there, yet not there). We do not interfere. The ‘we’ refers to identity or ego or doership. Even memory imagery of past meditation experiences is rested.

Any focused technique, said to be meditation, may be called concentration, since the entity (we) are present, attempting to contour the trajectory of awakening based upon vicarious knowledge, through focus. Of course, concentration has its limited advantages.

Taking a step back, before embarking upon this vs that method, we recognise that we are seeking to go beyond limitations of mind, in search of permanent joy, merging, melding with God. God being the all there is, we too, as individuated aspects of His being, must vaporise all sense of separateness arising from doership, if this goal is to be realised in active cognition of in-form consciousness.

Where were we? Meditation. So, if we are not, as in identity is not, other than an interface having it’s own separate transient agenda, meditation as thought rested awareness, simply flowing effortlessly is our natural state of being, vibrantly throbbing with bliss, in agendaless exuberance and aliveness, in an unbroken continuum through day and night.
