What does a white feather mean?
 

What does it mean when a random person gives you a white feather?

About nearly 10 years ago, I was standing outside a shop handing out leaflets for a Internet cafe, whilst being on a working holiday in Australia.

Then this guy on a skateboard, stopped in front of me, went into his little side bag and opened a book, took a white feather out and handed it to me, gave me a very faint smile, and put his book away back into his bag and skateboarded off into the distance.

He didn't say ONE word to me at all. No Hellos or Goodbyes. Just silence.

What does this mean and the white feather?

I thought it was fascinating.

He probably thought the white feather was beautiful, sweet, good luck, maybe? And he collected them?
OR he was prompted to give that to ONLY you...now that would be interesting. Do you think that was it?
Did you look like you needed some love and luck that day?

I read somewhere a while ago that feathers are used to "ask" for the right path in whatever you choose. I did not get much information as to why in that thing I read; but I think that the idea is that, since they are so light, you just HAVE to trust the Omnipotent One in that you will be guided in the right way.

Have you noticed anything significant (or even unsignificant) in your life since you got the feather? Less soubtful when making decisions? :)

It has been my experience that when I am about to make a bad decision that can cost me dearly (not financially but significantly high) the feathers I have gathered or received vanish, break or flutter away.

First thing that comes to my mind is that the person was an Angel or Spiritual Guide in disguise. If so, its appearance and actions could be symbolic. Perhaps interpret the "Event" actions, etc. As you would dream symbolism. Looking at the encounter from that perspective might help.

To me, the white feather is a gift of spiritual development and/or knowledge.

Also, ask yourself if you are skateboarding through some aspect of your life? Look up skateboarding to see what it refers to symbolically.

The faint smile: Some people who've met Angels unaware, have said that the disguised beings don't show pronounced emotions. Hence, in your case, the faint smile.

Of course, as already stated by others, the person could simply have been prompted or otherwise motivated to give you the feather.

But what if you needed a little otherworldly push to reach a positive goal?

A white feather means it comes from the Angels and from spirit

I think the way it was given means that you were meant to have it. Had you been thinking about someone or asking for a sign for confirmation in help making a decision at the time the feather showed up? Do you know anyone in you life who passed on who had an affinity for feathers or birds?

Quite simply, it means that angels are nearby, and are willing to help, guide, support or provide for you if you need (but you have to ask them and give them your permission first). Then they will intervene in your life, with whatever you main thing at the time may be.

It doesn’t need to be an actual feather either, it could be a picture of one, an artificial one, or a cloud on the sky. The message is still the same.

I wonder if it is not the feather, but the whole experience with the feather and receiving it. One day in your future you will understand the significance, but it could be weeks, months, or even years before you know. When that day and time comes you will immediately reflect on that day you got that feather and understand.

This reminds me of the time someone just gave me a cluster of purple crystals. Never knew what it could have meant. They just gave them to me.
