Trehalose for Covid

I had this bookmarked but forgot about it and recently found this. Trehalose is sold as an alternative sweetener and is available without a prescription in most countries, I believe. Another food additive I use now and then is iota carrageenan which has some activity agains Covid.

When I felt really tired for some reason at times, I took combinations of things like colloidal silver, elderberry extract, vitamins C and D, zinc and quercitin, St. John's Wort, Famotidine, Strepsils with amyl meta cresol and dichlorobenzyl alcohol etc. just in case it was Covid.

Two herbs that I know of that are pretty powerful antivirals are neem and oregano. Neem has antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties. The bark is stronger than leaves. But the leaves will work if you take enough. I keep neem capsules (powdered leaves) on hand for bad colds. It will help break up the congestion even if you have a sinus infection. You just need to take it round the clock for a couple of days to see an improvement and then you just need to keep taking it a few times a day until all symptoms are gone.

I keep oregano oil capsules on hand for stomach flu. I've been hit with it a couple of times already this year and my husband just got over a bad case. The oregano oil really helps with the cramping and diarrhea but not nausea so much. So he had to see the doctor for some anti-nausea meds. He also got a covid test just to rule it out. It was negative. Oregano oil also has antibacterial properties. I'll mix it with drawing salve for a wound if it looks like it's infected. The drawing salve helps pull infection up to the surface if there's pus.

I don't know how neem and oregano would work against covid, though. But I recommend keeping both on hand for viruses.

Famotidine only works if it's infused, I thought.

Great thread.
Oil of oregano can burn on an empty stomach, as a reminder. :)

Quinine is chemically related to hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine. I've been drinking a glass of diet tonic water most days. There isn't a lot of quinine in the tonic water sold in stores, though.

In the United States, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) limits the quinine content in tonic water to 83 ppm[2] (83 mg per liter if calculated by volume)

The oregano capsules are 'cut' with olive oil. I took them on an empty stomach when I had the stomach flu and the most that it does is make you burp oregano. I wouldn't recommend taking the steam-distilled pure oil of oregano internally at all. I have a bottle of pure steam-distilled oregano and it will burn the skin if not diluted. I use it to put a few drops in my ichthammol ointment to make an antibacterial drawing salve. I've made the mistake of being overgenerous and can attest that it will burn the skin if you use too much. You can buy oregano oil already diluted with olive oil and ready to use.

This is interesting. I got a bottle of quercetin sometime during the recent pandemic because it can act as a zinc ionophore.

Epigallocatechin-gallate is found in tea. I've been drinking green tea everyday.
