We are back! So sorry it took so long!
 

Hello everyone! The site is finally back! The cause of the crash seems to have been due to several factors, some of which are not entirely known. The hosting company initially said it was not in their domain to fix it, but another representative informed us there was not enough space on the current server. This can happen with a high volume site like the forum.

Thanks to the incredibly generous donations from all of the members here, we were able to upgrade to a dedicated server. This would not have been possible without the donations:hug2: I can't thank everyone enough!:hug2:


There appear to be other issues that will need to be worked on in the weeks to come, but thank goodness the site is live and ok!

One thought is perhaps the site can limit/review the size (MB) of images/photographs - if this is a factor contributing to the space issues, that can be alleviated by managing/limiting those file sizes. The site could also, or alternatively, expunge photos that are older than x years, [or some other policy on how to treat old images.] That could also free up space and allow current users to continue posting images.

Your technical support might be able to advise if that can help.

For storage space, the new server should have enough now that we won't run into storage issues again. The hosting company said the new server will protect against another incident like the one we just had. So hopefully it will be smooth sailing from here on out :) And if we have issues in the future, rest assured there will be a solution even if it takes awhile---hopefully not as long as this one took though!
