Hello Everyone!!

So I work in an assisted living facilty. I have noticed that many of the residents of this older generation do not questions things like medications so much. Many of them grew up believing that they need them.

But what I was thinking now is that many people are starting to question medications. I have been told that the aging baby boomers question things more and are more stubborn (which is great!).

I had the theory that healthcare and assisted living homes are going to start to change here and that people are going to start questioning things like "why should I take that pill?" and the like. I know some medications are actually needed depending on the problem, but there are many things that people may use to mask the problem, but doesn't "cure" it and causes other problems!

What a your thoughts on this topic?

As you say in your post, it is a good thing that the residents are questioning why they need to take their meds. I agree! It's not just that they question the need to take meds at all, but more specifically why do they have to take SO MANY meds. Doctors today are schooled to prescribe meds for ANYTHING these days. I know many people who are on double-digit numbers of meds. My personal theory is this is part of the grand conspiracy to keep humanity from attaining enlightenment.
