how does one truly define awake?

The the title states, what's your definition of "awake"?

Miss Hepburn 04-11-2023 02:55 PM

I'm sure you mean spiritually awake. For me, I guess, it would be simply that a person knows, but especially has experienced
that there is more to life than what their eyes see...meaning we are more than matter, flesh and bones?
That there is 'something else'...that might be called spirit....free of religious dogmas and concepts and blind faith.

Now, an Awakened person might be that and more? I never thought about a definition of either one, esp 'truly'.

kinda like
to the extent
I can be 'present'
here
now
whatever that means

as contrasted
to being lost
in my conceptions
of what life is
or what it must be
or who I must be
or who others must be
or who god must be

to that extent
I consider myself awake.

I haven't found
a reliable way
to determine
if others are doing the same.

I can only speak for myself I was born seeing and Hearing spirit so I have always been aware of two sides of Life
Seeing clearly in the spirit when Communicating.
And seeing clearly in every day life to me there is no difference.

eyes open but that can be debated

but others on the so called "spiritually"

how i see it every one
but up to the individual whether they choose to dismiss or nurture and grow they ability , intuition, physic and mind extra

there are people who are born with natural talent in this area

but for me being awake is something i can not put words to and is all ways expanding changing and evolving
living in the experience, present, playing in the moment, create in the moment, acceptance of all that is including the self but play in all that is, its so hard to explain

Perhaps it means someone who lives their life quietly accepting “what is”.

. Yes, spiritually awake. If that's the case.... I was never "asleep". As long as I can remember I always been aware of things around me positive or negative, physically or spiritually.

For me 'awake' is being 'aware' .
And that can be about anything .

excepting "what is" I don't believe is healthy in all accounts. For example, I could never accept the, is what it is. when it comes to things like slavery, human trafficking or domestic violence.

. This and the rest of what you mentioned, I can identify with. Not to long ago, I have learned to pay attention to my spiritual guides, angels or whatever you want to call them. Or to really, truly follow your heart. It sounds easy but in this day in age. It's one of the most difficult things to do. Like you mentioned, it takes time and practice but I feel everyone has this ability. Even an undereducated fool like me.
One thing is to except who you are, be totally honest with yourself. Both of those things are also very difficult, but the most difficult things are the most rewarding.
It's crazy how everything falls into place after you start at those points.
