What exactly is Bhakti Yoga?

So what exactly is the practice of Bhakti Yoga? What kind of action do you take?

I do not practice B.Y., per se...but some say that I do...obviously unknowingly.
When you love someone, do you ''practice'' anything?
Not really, you just do what your heart feels...maybe u buy your kid or partner something, think of them all day, do something
they would like...there's
a list of things you cold prob think of.
Same with B.Y. - you feel, think and do things for God.
(Or whatever 'avatar' you relate to.)

Even in the Old Testament it sounds like something Krishna says in the Gita
''He who stays his mind on me I will give him perfect peace.'' -in Isaiah''

While Krishna basically says in diff places -
O Arjuna, he is wise who focuses on Me, for he will find Me.

That's Bhakti yoga...focus, dedication or devotion to God. Imo.
It and life can be so simple. :)

(Oh, to love something, tho, you really have to know them, I'd say.)

Taking into account human temperament , four classical paths have been created for human beings to develop spiritually and attain enlightenment.

Karma Yoga ( the path of action), Jnana yoga (the path of the intellect) , Bhakti yoga (path of emotion), and raja yoga ( path of meditation) are these four.

So based on one's temperament and individual preferences, a person can choose the path or paths which is suited for him. For example, a physically active person also interested in intellectual activity can choose karma yoga and jnana yoga as paths suited for him.

Bhatki yoga deals with emotion, and love for God.

Most religions around the world belong to the category of Bhakti yoga and karma yoga emphasizing love and self-less service for spiritual transformation.

Sadhguru had elaborated on Bhakti yoga in this article...

Intellect wants to conquer the truth. Devotion just embraces the truth. Devotion cannot decipher but devotion can experience. ~ Sadhguru

Miss Hepburn, yes "practice" Bhakti Yoga for me would be missing the point, actually multiple points 🙏

Bhakti ~ merging fully with the deity

in the beginning it is surrender to the favourite deity. in the end it is surrender to what is.
