Levitation during meditation - video

I just saw this video of a guy levitating while meditating. It seems pretty legit, do you think it could be real? https://youtu.be/9XeAS7OA_1M

No way to tell if its legit, there are so many stage magicians that do something similar. Too bad he doesn't go higher or have a background he doesn't blend into.

Hi,

I have heard stories of those who can do these things. It was nice to see an example of it. The how to write up posted with the video was insightful.

Nowadays, with the aid of computers, all supernatural phenomena can look legit (on screen).
I personally believe this siddhi is possible, but what does this siddhi add to the average day of the ordinary man?

In the book Meeting the Masters by William Wildblood, his spiritual mentor spent time in a Christian monastery in the UK. He noticed that an elderly monk when engaged in deep prayer would float a few inches above the ground. Eventually he asked the monk about this, and the monk replied "It is nothing. Please do not mention it to anyone."

Like Serrao, I believe that levitation is possible. What purpose does it serve? At the very least it demonstrates that we humans have potential abilities far beyond our current understanding. I believe such abilities are not supernatural, but they follow natural laws which have yet to be discovered by science.

Peace.

There are indicators that it is fake.

As fake as those ads of Russian girls wanting to have sex with me.

When texts speak of 'levitation' they probably speak of subtle experiences, i.e. the subtle body leaving the physical body, or possibly a meditation experience..
The physical body isn't going to levitate, it is bound by the limitations of this world.

There's also videos of people meditating in the air, but they are using a special one-legged chair when the robe covers the leg.

Yes, we can ignore the silly people who sit on the one-legged chair. But I question the comment "The physical body isn't going to levitate, it is bound by the limitations of this world."

These limitations are based on current understanding of physical laws. Perhaps there are other laws, known to some but unknown to science, which mean that levitation is possible for the dense physical body.

I know there's a playing field between our 'world' and that which science cannot detect. But I'll have to draw the line somewhere as well. People may experience something but it doesn't mean their conclusions are correct. For all we know, 'levitation' is an AP, and not physical.

Thanks for the video! I have to agree with the top comments though. Those explanations seem more parsimonious than that this monk actually IS levitating..
