What interesting books do you have on your bookshelf?
Starting with me...I have three different versions of Lord Of The Rings and six different versions of The Narnia Books. |
Hi Honza . I've STILL to read the Lord of the rings books, oh but I loved the Narnia stories.
As for me , where do I start ? Mostly I have a lot of novels by Val wood, Sophie kinsella etc. I also have a few biographies , mostly comedians . And I have a special bookcase where in it are displayed my collection of old/ original/ collectable children's books. I just can't get enough of the nostalgia of them. My husband on the other hand has book shelves full of true crime like jack the ripper etc !!!!!!!!! |
Also on my bookshelf are a series of great cookbooks. Lots of books on famous artists.

I have a considerable, assortment of books. Many of them are on history, some on the various religions, and a lot of material which will be rolled into various books.

I've got quite an eclectic collection of books, from classics like 'Ulysses' and 'Anna Karenina' to a couple of Bill Bryson's books to modern fiction like 'Fight Club' to spiritual texts by people like Adyashanti and Ramana Maharshi. Was quite partial to Dickens' novels but I think I've donated them all to charity or just mislaid them, unfortunately.
One of the most interesting books I own is a novel called '1Q84' by Haruki Murakami, which was recommended to me by a member of this forum several years back and is apparently about two twin flames who somehow end up in an alternate reality (known as 1Q84, hence the title - it begins in 1984, I don't know what the Q is supposed to stand for) in which there are two moons in the sky. Their stories are interwoven but told completely separately for the most part (they only actually meet near the end). It's a complete doorstop of a novel, but I loved it and recommend it highly. |
