In the past, I gave a class on how to design your own Tarot Deck.

If there is interest, I would like to give a class in which 'everyone' will get a deck and if they want, they will 'learn' how to design their own deck.

IS THERE ANY INTEREST?

I can think of three decks I would like to invent

it is interesting but I'm not sure I have what it takes to write a book to go with the cards

It might be easier then you can imagine......

but then, we will cross that bridge when it happens.


I think I will start next week.

I haven't taught the class in a long time but when I did, it was fast paced and very easy to understand. If anybody has questions after it begins, just ask.

FIRST

We will decide on the size of the tarot card.

If the tarot cards are to be made out of easy to find card stock, we should pick a paper size available for all.

Letter size is available to most people and
A4 size, is smaller, and available to several people.

Letter size is 8.5 " X 11" (216 x 279 mm)
A4 size is 8-1/4 x 11-3/4 (210mm x 297mm)

I have decided to use the A4 size but Letter size will also work.

SECOND

Remember:

A4 size is 8-1/4 x 11-3/4 (210mm x 297mm)

The card size we will follow is the size used in the Rider Waite deck which is 2.75" x 4.75" (69.85mm X 120.65.

At this point, measurements will be only in inches.

We will assume our paper size is at least 8-1/4" X 11".
Most printers can not print within 1/4" from each order. This reduces our usable area to 7-3/4" X 10-1/2"


From that we can calculate how many cards we can get per page.

Next: I will show the layout for the cards on paper.
