Do dogs love humans?
 

Does my dog love me or is she showing me affections because of some sort of dominance thing? I feel like she loves me but I understand humans and animals don't have the same emotional complexity..

Yes they love you. My dog was adopted 4 years ago and he loves me and i love him. He is always around me making me company. He is so spoiled. :)

No matter what others might say, animals do have feelings. I know my cat loves me because when he had to stay with my daughter for awhile without me he became depressed and sick. When I finally was able to bring him home he got healthy again. Me and my boyfriend have said that we will no longer rent a place where my cat can't come with me. We're afraid he'll die from depression if he is not with me. To him I am his mommy.

Animals do love. And they love much more deeply than humans do. Humans could learn a lot from animals if they only listen.

They have the most loving energy. They are a mess when you leave. I baby sat my moms dog when they went on vacation, and that dog was a depressed mess. I think Dogs are very adaptable to anyone who throws them a bone, But at the end of the day,they love and want to be with their owner

I read an article about this. They scanned various animals brains to see which parts fire up.

When a dog sees its owner the part of the brain fires up which has to do with love.
With cats this does not happen. Dogs are far more intelligent than cats, and capable of love, where cats run primarily on instinct.

I don't agree with the results of that study, lenvdb64. I've seen cats express love and felt the loving energy.
