Do you believe in mermaids?
I somewhat do.

Do you believe in mermaids?
I kinda do. I mean, it's a big ocean, and most of it hasn't even been explored.

I think the more we learn the more we come to terms with that fact that we really know nothing, then we see, that anything is possible. I don't think anyone can deny the fact that mermaids could exist, seeing as we haven't even discovered all of this earth yet. We have no dea what is out there, it's a very profound thought. |
Orlando, I've read your other posts. Why would you go about looking for random things to believe in? Believe in and strengthen that which you experience and already know. Start from there and the rest takes care of itself.
|
Yes. Seth speaks about other types of humans in his books, and that we are not the only human species to walk the earth, ergo half human/half fish, half human/half animal (I would guess the half human/half animal species died out many aeons ago). But how do we know mermaids/merman did?
Or maybe they are in the 5th dimention with the dragons. Henri suggested a book to me once, ETs, dolphins and Angels (or the other way around, not sure). If you can get past the beginning, there is a mesmerizing account of his telepathic journey with Dolphins. It so caught my fancy that I wanted to go to the shore and call some dolphins and see if they would respond. We went about a week later, my hubby and I. And on the way there, I asked the Dolphins (in my head lol) if I could see them when I got to the beach and I thanked them. I have never seen dolphins on this beach or any other for that matter. While we were sitting in our chairs, at the oceans edge, I really communicated with being in the presence of the ocean. The day couldn't have been any more beautiful, it was about 80 degrees F, there was a very slight breeze, it was gorgeous. About a half an hour in, I was watching this wave and the surfers bobbing up and down trying to catch one, and incredibly there was a huge black fish riding inside this wave. I pointed it out to my husband, because I thought maybe it was a shark, but it was the wrong color. Just then, further out, I saw a flash of something silver and looked that way, and there were dolphins. One at first, then two. They were way out, and I had to squint to see them, but they stayed there the whole time we were there, jumping out of the water in a beautiful arc (not high, but high enough to see from where we were sitting). On the way home, I thanked them for showing themselves to me and, all the way home on the freeway there were dolphins. The sound wall next to me had been decorated by the powers that be, and the image on the plaster picture was a dolphin smiling. They smiled at me the whole way home. So, if you believe you can call the dolphins to speak with you, you can. Didn't see any mermaids, but I believe they are out there somewhere. I think they are more dolphin than human. I also think they should stop (if they haven't yet) the sonar experiments that keep beaching the whales and the dolphins, and who knows what else gets harmed? Ah well, there's my 2 cents. |
Plus it could (also) be that they reside in other worlds or/and on other planets.
|
Other worlds or other planets - maybe. This world? Unlikely.
I'm a fairly skeptical sort of person though... |
Seems like the two threads has been merged - so this post is up for removal I guess as it no longer makes any sense :D
|
why not......:)

So this here quote is from another thread and I read it as an experience of being on a Mars that exist on another frequence than the Mars we look at in the sky (or something like that). Though I can be wrong  For some time I have had the understanding that on Neptune there is a world full of water, a lush world where beings of water strive very well including Mermaids. |

That would not surprise me at all  |

I hope I had on more than that, lol ! ....don't answer  |
very creative melding of the two threads, the replies don't exactly follow but the timing is right :D
life would be so much easier for the mods if only one thread was posted per question :hug3: to the mods for all they do !! |

I think mermaids were figments of lonely sailors imaginations, to help them "entertain" themselves when they spent many years at sea ...

I saw a documentary taken from Africa to prove about their existence the other day at the Animal Planet Channel.
http://animal.discovery.com/tv-shows...f-mermaids.htm But No, in physical reality, I still don't believe, because this is done by animation at large. The drawings found from a cave could have just been done by somebody fancying them, say some lonely fisherman. It will be interesting what others think about it. |
Better clarify on what I mean with I don't believe, I don't believe they are there in our oceans because if they are, with the obvious curiousity of mankind, they would have been found already, or are being seen around at least. What with our technology where satellites can track down activities out there at the oceans... But yes, I believe there is a good possibility they may exist in other planets, who knows? |
There was a program that was on a few months back that gave way to the idea of them existing. They depicted them as nothing like what typical resemblance of them to be. It was interesting.

RE: OP
No... eudaimonia, Mark |
Best to check out Irish myths on the selkie.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selkie |
Selkies
If, on the other hand, a mortal woman seeks a selkie man, she goes to the shore and sheds exactly seven tears into the sea. The selkie then emerges from the ocean, sheds his skin and gives the woman what she wanted... http://archives.starbulletin.com/200...ceanwatch.html  Not bad idea to write about a lonely woman's fantasy of men and seals. |

Maybe because they are not mermaids or mermates  Just a thought... |
I certainly think there are small truths to every "myth"
If a person reads the history of the anunnaki, recorded in the sumerian tablets, and translated by a few people, then mermaids are certainly possible. The anunnaki were expert geneticists, and they created half man, half animal creatures like the minotaur. There is no reason then to discount mermaids. |
I believe Mermaids could very well exist , just like aliens
. I wonder if Mermaids look diffrent than how they are depicted in books and media. We just never know what is out there in the unknown . |
Yes
However I feel that world is "veiled" to us at the moment |
I suppose they can exist like anything else can........
|
My understanding is there are so many different levels of existence or dimensions...some very close to our earth
and sometimes these beings 'bleed through' into our 3rd dimension limited visual spectrum. So, we have children or sensitives that will see unicorns, mermaids, certainly fairies and angels are so common... leprechauns...all sorts of various characters. |
