Oh! I saw the nicest rain yesterday (and I, like Native spirit, usually hate rain and like snow)
It absolutely chucked it down until the little lanes where I live were running like rivers. I went out with my massive brolly, and my wellies to walk in it. Then the sun came out and it was like raindrops were rainbows and crystals. Then steam rose from the pavement, and the sun kept shining. That sort of rain is really nice! (Wet though....haha) |
Very nice Tobi, thanks for sharing..
Some nice documentaries: Danube Delta https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oXo...L&index=6&t=0s Costa Rica https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-Cb...L&index=7&t=0s |
I grew up in the Pacific Northewest United States where it rains 8-9 months out of the year. I now live in Colorado. Colorado is semi arid and we don't get lots of rain here. About 13-16 inches a year! I do miss the rain but not 35-40 inches a year's worth.

I love rain so much, I would probably be happy if it rained almost everyday. In CT where I reside at the moment, we've had a lot of rain this year. And with the rain come the complaints from my coworkers. While at the same time, I tell them how happy I am that it's raining. Now some of them accuse me of making it rain. Maybe they are right...Maybe.

Haha maybe you are a Rain Goddess! You know what I would enjoy the most? Hours of both rain and sunshine every day, like during some periods in the tropics. It would lead to so much overgrowth! Let the plants rule the world!! What does CT stand for..? |

That sounds a lot like coastal California redwoods. Having lived there it rains almost every day but there is also lots of sunshine. The redwoods love it most of all. When the clouds part and sun shines through the canopy the rain drops sparkle like jewels. The effect is like a fairy wonderland. |
Yay, Rain!
Ah, Linen53 the pacific NE forests are magical with the mist and freshness of the air! When I was young I loved running in the rain. When we lived in the desert it was such a blessing and brought such amazing surprises, like instant re-constituted frogs. Now in semi-arid area, the rain brings the smell of soil and it is amazing! The clouds in our big sky are amazing, giant white and billowy, grey and lacey, long and drippy. Thank you for the wonderful thread Altair. |
You're very welcome Anala..
@Flexi-Girl; you are most lucky to have lived in such a magical place. A fairy wonderland indeed.. |
