How to motivate myself to excercise after I get up?

I’ve been trying to stick to this schedule, because it works the best. If I excercise later in the day, I sometimes feel that my room is too stuffy for sleep when I go to bed. In the morning, it means I can prop my door open to get more airflow and leave it for a while.

Thing is sometimes it’s hard enough to drag myself outta bed. If I miss out one day, I feel bad and can’t motivate myself for the next day, and the self critical stuff kinda snowballs from there. Any tips?

I have a morning routine, so I don't have to decide if I exercise or don't. It is a check on my list.

I also know that my body and mind need that exercise. I remember that when I skipped exercising for a few days I experienced discomfort.

Rarely, when my schedule is too tight, or when I really don't feel like exercising, I do a shorter routine, I move it later in the day, or just skip it that one time.

I tried exercising later in the day, after reading some recommendations. It was okay physically, but I felt the pressure of having to do it the whole day long. When I returned to the morning exercise it felt better. There are also opinions that working out on an empty stomach is better, more effective.

I'm talking here about a half hour workout routine, not about aerobic exercise, like brisk walking, which I do in the afternoon, another half hour, most days.

Motivation to exercise

Hi! This might sound a bit strange or seem quite a small habit, but every little bit can help. If you have a window in your sleeping space, try to always keep it open just a crack-even in colder weather. Enough so you can smell the fresh air in your room. Fresh air is a great way to sleep better and wake up more refreshed in the morning. I would also recommend upon waking up, taking a quick but cool shower or sink bath at the very least. The cool water will sharpen your senses and get you moving. Another option is, if you have this type of setup, close or close by half your hear registers in your sleeping area, so that only a fraction of heat is allowed in. Sleeping in a cooler room encourages a better, more sound nights sleep, thus making you feel more refreshed in the morning. The better night sleep, the more focused one is upon waking. Good luck with your workouts-you can do it!!! I hope this helps you. Take care.
