Coyote

Watched a coyote this morning.
I was thrilled to see it's sense of hearing and the
way it leaped like a deer when it realized I was there.
I usually only here them and rarely see them.

This pic is not the one I seen but I added it for those that like pics.

Once, during a walk, I tried to pet a coyote, believing that's a dog. The coyote was mystified by my behavior, and jumped off and run away when my hand almost touched him. He looked back a couple of times, seeming to say in disbelief: "Nah ..."

Must have been a joy to experience. Lucky.

I always wanted that coyote to catch that annoying little road runner.

Where I live, we see coyotes all the time. Sometimes they do mischievous things.

Nice experience.

Sounds like a moment you were totally not afraid - probably in a good altered state.

I love dogs, and I thought that that was a lost dog. It happened several times before, so I was always carrying with me a leash, just in case I need to take a lost dog to his master, or to hold the dog until his master arrives, if they had only a phone number on the tag.

Very cool to have an up close and personal experience like you had.

It was a joy. Thanks.

Where I live there are lots of trees and cover that make most things hard to spot
but I have often heard them running trails and yipping.

Some of my coyote friends

Coyotes howl to find each other
It can sound eerie but it's friendly
They help control the rabbit population in the neighbourhood
Most are fleabitten but otherwise healthy
with thick coats and shining eyes
and gorgeous silver tails
and russet caps
They look like dogs, fox, wolf rolled into one
They sit like lions
They are good for the environment

We dont have them here the closest thing we have to a coyote is the Fox
