The battle with spirit
 

Some see spirit as a powerfully dominant force
Through fear, they fear the power and dominance
All the while negating their own
Through their fears, they feel controlled
Dominated by this hold

Religion, parental woes, conflict in the mind, the unknown sewed
As a controlling, domineering, must do hold
The reality of dominance, bearing down by carers stares
Held by hands that struggle with despair
Teachers telling, punishing your ears
Telling you that god will dominate those fears
Telling you, moulding you, twisting things into frames
Of a story you’ll keep telling you, long after all these tears

Being controlled, being held down, told what to do
Not being able to frown, not being able to speak
Freezing up, just doing what’s right
No wonder the spirit space inside becomes a fight!

When you are melded in shared spaces
And everything feels off
You will never feel this essence
That can move through clear
And never lost

You will never bear witness to its beautiful flow
Carefree and care less without burdens that slow
You as the controlled one, will turn that in you
Into a controlled inner mess, that controls all you do


Spirit has no agenda, no rules that contain
No dominating factors, no telling, no name
You in this configuration, must surely undo
The you lost in its hold
Where shared merging closed the view

You as the little child in the arms of its source
Will only recover as you let go to this force
Not to drive you as ‘must do’ ‘you shall unto me!’
This god fearing spirit, controlling all you see

Your mind/body/spirt is a unified force
If one is controlled, fighting its course
The spiritual nature cannot be fully fulfilled
By the hands and the mind
Of stories that bind

The spiritual nature is beyond all of you
Decided by others, creating this view
You as creation, clear and without control
Will no longer fight the merge
Through you, as the three fold

Mind/body/spirit is the three fold of you
Where one is in battle, you lose this natural view
Reclamation is in your own hands
As a cup fully filled
By the allowing and releasing
Those battles of the will..
