Neb's Random Artstuffs

Yeahhh...I mess around with art once in a while. I'm still doing a lot of practice with it though, so I guess this thread will trace my development as I work on different techniques, styles, and so on.

Today I decided to try openCanvas - I'd heard a lot about it and that it might be well suited to my style and less of a resource hog for my computer. Sure enough, it's been working beautifully for me tonight! I decided to try an actual painting-painting (not starting with a sketch like I tend to do)...and do it totally free-form and just see what developed, with no particular preset image in my head to begin with. I've been itching to use my tablet for days now, so this was nice.

So! Here's the result.

I'm not really sure what it is, by the way. I know I was highly in touch with my inner child while doing this one. I called it "Forging Daylight"...I just imagined this little girl, forging small suns from the very blood in her veins, these suns rising up as though from vibrant vines, carving the darkest night and creating daylight in their wake...with humming black points of power in the center of each sun.

Make of it what you wish. LOL! Hope you guys enjoy!

It's good. Not quite sure what that thing is, but you paint beautifully - lots of feeling of movement - sky's really well done and all. Glad you shared.

Yeah LOL ... I wasn't sure either. Random freeform. XD

Messed around some more to get the hang of OpenCanvas. Here ya go. "Waiting For The Rain"...

You have good technique - really good eye - not that I know much about technique - the way you did the pine needles - everything just sorta flows with your art. And the vivid colors are - well gosh, you seem to know what you're doing.

The first one... Is a symbolism of being a Creator... See, behind those clouds it's just a blank black sky with some stars... Then out of nowhere she creates those vein/eye thingamajigs... And you can see that their source is within her with those things running through her arms...

We are all creators, made in the image of God...

Kapush!!! Hohohohohoho I'm no professional I just thought about it LOL ♥♥♥

Great artwork Nebulous!

LOL actually I'm glad you said that! I had the same sort of thing run through my mind as I was doodling it up, I kept hearing "Creator, creator," but didn't think much of it I suppose. I'm thinking I should do freeform stuff like this more often. Just open my mind and start doodling away.

Thanks bunches! :hug2:

You know I read somewhere, years ago, that doodling is a form of meditation... Hmmm... That makes a heck lotta sense to me... :)

Hahaha wowww...so I thought I should mention this because it's kind of creepy-cool. After I finished "Waiting For The Rain"? A friend I haven't spoken to in a long time said that she'd left a movie "just in time for the rain" -- and she was watching it in a park full of pine trees, LOL! Also, she looks like THIS:

Seriously, freaking weird stuff! I'm sitting here wondering if this is some kind of hint I should talk to her more...
