This morning I can see blue sky and the sun and it is a little cooler today! The wind and smoke has died down for now which is good for the asthmatics . I'm in a somewhat safer area, though it's so dry right now that the entire East Coast is on high fire danger alert.
I'd love it if a flash dance mob could do a rain dance and create a collective miracle for rain and restoration :-) |
Tuesday evening we had a screaming blue norther blow in about 7pm....in less than two hours the temperature dropped from the low 80's to the high 40's!
It's sooo cold, rainy and grey!.....My thin tropical blood is not used to this and I'm already sick of it! SUN PLEASE!!!!!!! |
It's warm here today. It's 10 am and we're already at 27°f looks like the roads are cleared of ice too, getting out to enjoy the day. Yippee!

I like the rain check idea :D I just finished an article above watering established trees in drought and growing tough ground covers where all the bare ground is. I will collect the water from the shower and do that. |

Rain. We are surrounded by mountain ranges which means some of the mountain ranges will have snow. Some of the mountains ranges are expecting 30" of snow. We live in the desert. Not the stereotype desert. |

Man, what a day. 4 am started shoveling, 8-9 inches, 20 degrees - fed the feral cats all waiting. (12 inches for others nearby)
Called the dentist to make sure they were open, cuz the closures had 2 lines of info on ABC... everything closed..schools, govt offices,every Military base here, banks delayed - wow... but if the dental staff can make it - I can make my noon appt.:tongue: Xrays - a lot of time..and then the dentist doesn't charge me... 30 yrs ago I was one of his first patients, I dunno, I refer a lot of people. Now 4 pm - roads clear--wait till tonight when they all freeze and this snow goes to O'Hare! (from CO, USA) Yikes. |
All I can say is WoW! Snow, cold, wind, rain, wind snow and cold. It is crazy. :icon_eek:

There was a storm while I was away and the ground has soaked up some water. I saw a small puddle on the ground! The birds sound happy. Still need more over the summer to avoid bush fires so I'll be cashing in a few more of those checks! |
