ImthatIm, it is an honor to see your heart, expressed through song.

It is through difficult times we have the opportunity for much growth; though we may not see it at the time.

It really seems rather positive, what A Tribe Called R.E.D. is doing for urban youth with their electric Pow Wows and with their collaborations with likeminded people – creating that space of inclusiveness.

Who needs metal when you’ve got that powerful drum circle base.

It’s no accident that Native American activist, poet and musician John Trudell is the first voice you hear on the collective’s third album, We Are The Halluci Nation, as the group considers him a forefather for this movement.

The album includes a number of other connections as well, ranging from hip-hop star Yasiin Bey (AKA Mos Def) or Saul Williams to Colombian visual artist and musician Lido Pimienta to native musicians Black Bear, Tanya Tagaq to the Australian aboriginal band OKA or the Swedish-Sami singer Maxida Marak.

Would you know this comes rather close to my mixed - old - Saami/Carelian singing style with those he-he-he-he (or alternatively ho-ho-ho-ho) sounds sang out into the Universe (or rather to the 'echo of totality'). Wow! There you go.

Aren’t we on the pulse of things eh, ImthatIm – and in our old age

P.S. I liked your gentle prayer song too …

I really liked Maxida Märak's music

I laughed so hard when I read her nose ring in this vid. I'll check out some of her other stuff too.
Sometimes I enjoy not knowing the words in a song and just vibe with the flow and energy and emotions.

^ There she sings in Swedish and I like it better when she sings in Saami, because it is a much sweeter and gentler sounding language (to my ear), but then of course Swedes wouldn’t understand what she is on (protesting) about.
And we all know what transgenerational trauma is – only toooooo well.

Joik in itself doesn’t necessarily need words.

Though animals, other than reindeer apparently also do enjoy eating mushrooms.
