Is it possible to not need tarot to read for someone as they a useful too in some ways but I don’t feel I need them to read someone I can pick up on things just by talking to them body language and my intuition

Why would that be mad? I can do it without cards too. I've done all kind of readings. Tuning into their energy, from a photo or a name -even a forum nickname and not knowing their real name. I've also done quite a lot of readings by making woollen fairies by hand with felt needles. The most in-depth readings came out of that for the person who had ordered the fairy!

So there are all kinds of ways to read and pick up on things. Cards are just one of those ways.

Absolutely you can pick up on an individual's energy. I have done this with forum nicknames, as Fairy mentioned.

I tend to receive images in my mind's eye when I am reading a person's energy.

I mostly read tarot for week ahead spreads for myself though at times I will read for my mother.
