How are tarot/oracle cards selected for reading?

I have seen some tarot/oracle readers keep shuffling the cards until one card drops from the deck to the table and then use the dropped card for the reading.

Some other tarot/oracle readers shuffle the cards first and then spread them out (like fan shape/semicircle shape) on the table. They then choose one random card and use it for the reading.

There are also some other tarot/oracle readers who shuffle the cards first and then stop randomly. They put the cards as a deck on the table (all stacked together neatly) and then choose the first card on the deck and use it for the reading.

Are there different ways to choose the card for reading?

No, it's whatever way feels right to you. There is no wrong way. Many cut the deck in 3, stack it back up in different following order and use the cards that are then at the top.'
Some readers also check the card at the bottom of the deck, others even check a few at the bottom.

To each their own, whatever your inner guidance tells you and feels good to you.
And there's also the practical side. Some ways may take longer, which might not be handy if you're recording for instance, or need more space like spreading them all out.
