No, it does not. There is being aware by programming in that a thing can be aware and not being aware or what we call response. Even the simplest lifeform is conscious is it not. If there is a light source it will move toward it because it experiences it, senses it, and in the end remembers.One question is do lifeforms learn. Though instinct we have the same quality. There is awareness and it is possible all things have properties innately known through the sub or unconscious which itself represents consciousness.
