Do Nothing Meditation.
https://deconstructingyourself.com/d...editation.html The full instructions for the Do Nothing meditation technique are: sit down and do nothing. Here's the thing. This is not an easy or effortless practice without a focused and concentrated mind. At least for me it wasn't until I had a substantial amount of time practicing mindfulness meditation. Any focused technique should do the trick of focusing and concentrating mind. Mindfulness, mantra, candle gazing, etc... |
Thank You peteyzen

Look at it this way. The only practice that is truly effortless is one without technique. Any technique is effort, even if subtle to the point of being hardly noticeable. TM, mantra, mindfulness, candle gazing, etc... are all single-pointed focus techniques meant to focus and concentrate mind. Focus is effort. Do nothing meditation, also called just sitting, resting in awareness and choiceless awareness dispense with technique and hence are effortless practice. It's just being and in fact that is your natural state even though it's not realized. Effortless practice helps one realize the distinction between direct experience and thinking about direct experience. It's a very subtle but immensely profound difference. |
Oh great dear JustASimpleGuy thanks for your valuable information

I have some input.
When you go to a movie for 2 hrs - is that effort? When your head is buried under a car hood restoring your pet project - that '65 convertible- is it effort? When you're concentrated gluing a model airplane together is it effort? And I won't ask when you are with your partner. When you're enjoying yourself, loving something - it grabs your attention. Right? Find that thing that lovingly captures your attention - that thing you look fwd to all day. Is it effort to lay on the beach and drink in the rays of the Sun and listen to the waves and the seagulls with a smile on your face? See what I mean? Find that thing, within you, that is more powerful than the mind - and stops it - makes you alert and opens your heart...like basking in the Sun on a lazy peaceful day. :hug3: Or not. |
