Oh dear, I haven’t read any of them, but I have seen the television adaptations of some.

I could only check 1 "A christmas carole" but I didnt really read it,I watched the movie..........

I have read all of them. @Honza, what "christian slant" did you find in the Grimms Fairy Tales?

I have read all the books on that list. Lord of the Rings was not a childrens book. I could barely read it as an adult because it took 4 chapters for the hobbits to get to the top of the mountain. Very tedious writing. But I loved the Hobbit and all the other books on the list.

CS Lewis had some really good sci fi novels too.

Charles ****ens had some great novels too, my favorite was Great Expectations.

I thought JK Rowling was a hack but her writing got better with each book, and I did love the story.

All the fariy tales and all the mythology was my favorite when I was a teen ager.

I'll need to read the others. Those are definately on my list to read one day.

My guess is that the Grimm brothers were Christian. Not sure why but I find 'Fairy Tales' and Christianity synonymous.

I'm late to reading JRR Tolkien. I read the Similarian about couple years back and have recently read the Hobbit. LOTR is next.
