Remember everybody, the internet is the best doctor in town because we can google all sorts of maladies to learn about them, then when we visit a real doctor we'll know as much about the condition as him, and can keep tabs that he's giving us the right treatment..;)

"we can know as much about the condition as him" depends on your understanding and which internet pages you read before you go to the doctor. I do recommend doing research but I think you need to start with the doctor, ask a LOT of questions. If the doctor does not like your questions then find another doctor. They are human and not all knowing, biased and judgemental just like everyone else. But the internet is FULL of misinformation. Be wary what you believe.

I see you're joking ... But there is some truth there: you can trust doctors about as much as you can trust the internet.

Agreed, I find that the most useful forums are the ones where people who have the same medical condition all get together to compare notes..:)

Yes, some doctors aren't much good and I doubt if there's a family in the land (including mine) which hasn't been touched by medical incompetence at some time or other.

You might get some info from the internet. but you cant replicate the info you get from your own Doctor. i would look symptoms up on the net but i would not act upon them.
