What is enlightenment?

hello everyone,

What is enlightenment and at what point does one achieve it?

Thanks for your help :)

You're enlightened when you're lucid while awake. It is similar to becoming lucid in your dream.

Others use other definitions.

Enlighten comes from the metaphor that ignorance is a state of being "in the dark," and that knowledge is illuminating. We use enlighten as a verb meaning to clear up, to remove confusion. Light is also a powerful metaphor for spiritual insight. If you have a great revelation about the divinity of the world, you could say you have been enlightened. The era known as the "Age of Reason" is also called the Enlightenment.

It's hard and confusing to explain "enlightenment" Everyone has there own definition of it. Long story short, what I do is take the official definition and make it my own. Something like "enlightenment" is more of a personal question then a one definition question. You just can't ask what is enlightenment like you can ask what is a banana. Buy asking a lot of questions I found most anything spiritual doesn't have a rock solid answer for anything. Spiritual is what anything means to you. It's often very personal and indivualized. Unless your just going through the motions. If that's the case spiritually doesn't mean a thing. You're just doing and believing what others tell you.

When one realized what's hidden
in the light before oneself are forever here and now.
Enlightenment,Nirvana,Yoga and
all related to it, becomes just
a label.

The term “enlightenment” began as a Buddhist concept, it was seen as a state of spiritual maturity, then in the 18th century it became a non-spiritual philosophical movement; where people were said to have enlightened ideas. Sort of like today when people call other people “woke.”

Although enlightenment in the spiritual sense is a transformational experience of great insight. It is not the end of a journey rather it is the beginning of a new journey. Enlightenment literally means to have your own inner light on very brightly shinning forth and your consciousness literally bathing in that light. It is a state of great spiritual light.

A person who is spiritually enlightened will most likely never say that they are enlightened, because it is a humble and natural state of being. If a person says they are enlightened they most likely are not enlightened. Enlightenment is just another step on the way in a continuing journey of growing into more and more divine light.

I know I didn't ask the question. But what you wrote helped to clear it up for me. Thank you.

Enlightenment seems to go hand in hand with the ego.

Both, are whatever you want it to be.

Perhaps this is a way to conceptualize enlightenment.
