Ah, the Kripalu Center in the Berkshires, (Massachusetts, USA).
I know it well! Beautiful, lovely for a retreat. Nice to bring it up and the article on silence. There is nothing so much like God in all the universe as silence. Meister Eckhart c. 1260 – c. 1328), German, Catholic mystic Many have never heard of him or his incredible life. Hoping this topic is more about Silence than Amoda Maa. If a person has not taken part in the Practice of Silence - I suggest taking just a day with no electronic sounds or texting. No talking, not even to your pets! :) Just one full day, minimum. |

Thanks for sharing, Ajay. I’ve downloaded her book, ‘Embodied Enlightenment’ on kindle.

Emptiness, silence, neutrality. These are stable breeding space for enlightenment.
No one can give this to another. One has to find it in ones own awareness. Meditation helps a great deal. One can focus on a sound consistently enough that the emptiness and neutrality is restored in ones awareness. One can rest in it again and from that a lack of resistance an allowing of allowance can be allowed by the awareness to be realised by this awareness again. One cannot conjure it or create it, at first. It has to be allowed. Only when the allowing and joy is stable and consistent enough, one can channel and flow it at will for whatever intention/will, as an act of natural creation/creativity or expression of joy/enlightenment. This is not an act of creating joy, but rather flowing with, by allowing, the joy that is already always there anyway. Waiting to be realised through allowance through stable emptiness and neutrality and receptivity. Doesn't mean negative things cant or wont come in at first. Especially not if they have been in the awareness for a long time. But it does mean that through deliberate emptiness one can make room for the natural and good things to come into the awareness, tiny bit by bit. That is enough. Little bits of goodness, emotionally authentically felt in awareness of it, goes a loooooong way. The power of goodness has extreme healing capacity. One has just to learn how to allow it. Meditation helps with that. The emptiness, and thus the allowing of the allowance, part. |
