Animal life in the rainforest (2016)

I've photographed all of those too, except the howler monkey. That's pretty neat that you got one that close.

Howler monkeys are hard to photograph because they are almost always high up on a tree. You can hear them but its hard to see them. This one just happened to be hanging out on a suspended bridge. Feel free to share your photos. You mentioned being in Costa Rica. The animals are easier to spot there because the hiking path is clearer. In the Amazon Rainforest the animals are harder to spot because the forest is very dense and there is no clear path. You hear them around you but often not see them. And if you see them its best not to photograph them because you'll miss seeing and enjoying them with your own eyes. In the Amazon its best to go with a guide because its extremely easy to get lost. In Costa Rica you can hike on your own and enjoy the experience without a guide.

Yes, it is a perfect country for photographing animals and jungles because of the paths! I'll see what I can post later.
Challenge for you: make a picture of a cougar or jaguar! :wink:

Did you manage to make good pictures of macaws? I haven't, though I have the emerald toucan and the quetzal thanks to an awesome guide :D
CR markets itself as a nature tourism destination, so they build jungle bridges, rain-proof paths, and have many qualified guides.
I plan to return, also because I haven't been to Corcovado.

Have you been to Asian jungles?

I don't have a cougar or jaguar photo. They are hard to spot and like to be away from people. Leopards are hard to spot too. They are usually up on a tree looking for prey. Or they'll hide in the grass. More likely they'll see you without you ever seeing them.

As for the birds. I don't have a macaw bird but i do have one of a toucan from the Amazon. I have many bird photos but don't know the type.

I haven't been to a jungle in Asia. Just Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Brazil, and Africa. The Philippians, Thailand, and India probably have good jungles. I believe tigers are around the Asian jungles. Those are my favorite out of the large cats. Would be awesome to see them in their natural environment up close. Have you been to a jungle in Asia?

The chances of seeing any forest cat are slim. Lions and leopards on a safari tour are the best option. Tigers are in Asia. The best place to see them is probably in Nepal or Kaziranga. I have not been to Asian jungles but would like to. At least once in my life I want to wake up to the sound of gibbons in the morning.

Definitely go for it if its something you really want to do.
