Reading for family and friends.
 

I have found reading for family and friends difficult or like the cards don't seem to work so well there's no pattern and im stumbling along saying this card means this but there's no real story/ message unfolding.
I used to read for the public in some cool places in London.
And I was very pleased with the readings.
And when i give my self a reading
It blows my mind how accurate the cards are.

Was interested in other people's experiences.

I don't like reading for family or close friends either. It is different, suddenly there's far more emphasis on doing a good reading. Also, they might easily reject what you say because you're familiar to them, part of your inner circle and you of theirs. They usually don't have the same attitude they'd have to a strange reader.
Some do, and are really open to it. But I don't like doing it much either.

I agree with every thing you say.
I also feel with family and close friends you know them you have shared vibes together you may have done some healing work for each other you were not even aware of.
But with a stranger you wont them to open their mind to the reading, i find once some one has decided to have a reading this is what they do.
And they are eager to see what the cards will say.
And this sets of some kind of spark between the two of you.
It's a bit difficult for me to explain as is anything to do with the Tarot.
Im yet to meet any one who can explain how they work.

I don't read for others, nor do I plan to. I use tarot for myself, for self-knowledge, self-discovery, healing and shadow work. In general people come to tarot for quick fixes, for love troubles or predictions, and I don't think that that is what tarot is for. Also, people only want to hear what suits them really. I am also not a therapist, so who am I to give others advice.

What you describe is like in counselling. you cannot counsel anyone you know
because it changes the outcome because you know them.
you are better reading for people you dont know that way the feedback you get will have more meaning.
Why dont you try it in our reading section?

I do not read the cards as a therapist or counselor.
Each card has its own individual meaning and with time you get to know that meaning and i simply read the meaning of each card not read the person.
And when i read for my self i ask the cards a question or some times i don't ask a question and see what the cards have to say.
I can soon see/ feel if the cards are working or not.
I tried reading for my brother and my cousins wife and it just didn't come together and was very embarrassing so it put me off
doing it again.

Psychic reading involved?

No that's what you do in a spiritualist church for instance.:cool:

Psychic reading is something you DON'T to in a Spiritualist church..... Mediumship is what's demonstrated in our churches, not psychism. :wink:

I do know things psychicley but i do not use the cards to do that.
