A Buddhist Mantra.

May I be an agent of love in this world.
Where there is hatred, let me bring loving-kindness;
Where there is injury, forgiveness;
Where there is doubt, insight; etc:......
Based on the Prayer of St Francis.

The last line is "In dying to self-centeredness, we are born to the deathless."

No idea what "the deathless" is or means. Is that even Buddhism?
Born to deathless? Strange line.

It's not strange when you understand ' Nirvana ' in Buddhism

I think you'll enjoy The Buddhist Vision of The Beatitudes, or mybe you've already read it :smile:

Blessed are the merciful, for they have learned how to be merciful to themselves.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they have looked into their heart of darkness and smiled with the wisdom of a Buddha.

""In dying to self-centeredness"

one does not have to die to get rid of self-centeredness. if you don't want to be self centered, take your attention off your ego, no death required!

Jodo Shinshu (Pure Land True Essence), or Shin Buddhism, Whereas other paths say that you can practice your way out of the heart of darkness, Shin Buddhists aspire to come to grips with our own warrior nature. ..
Many other Buddhist Teachings are available on line regarding this subject....
