Just a little snippet of info: that could be of interest. Santa Teresa de Avila's Family were Conversos (Converts).....

Ah, I see her paternal grandfather was indeed Jewish...her mother raised her as a Christian, it says online ---it did not say Catholic, per se.
To note for others, she was a 16c person. Her grandfather may have done this in the 1400s. |
I've just remembered St John of the Cross and St John of Avila also came from converso families.
