111 stone in total mala?
 

21 labadorite beads, 21 moonstone beads, 21 howlite beads, 21 botswana beads, 21 black obsidian beads, 5 citrine marker beads (including the guru bead), and 1 clear quartz pendant? Counting every stone on the mala it comes out to 111. i know its suppose to be 108 bead mala traditionally, but do these numbers still work, or are they bad for a mala? and i know im not suppose to count the guru bead, but do i count the pendant into anything? i could add two extra citrine marker beads for 7 instead of 5, bringing the mala to a total of 111 beads without the pendant and guru. But then the total stone count would be 113, and i know anything 13 is bad. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

111 is a special number.... I would go with 111.

As for bead count, the count number is different depending on the belief systems.

When I wake up at night and see the time on my alarm clock is 1:11, I know it is a special message for me. Just as seeing the time 1:23, etc.

111 can be also looked as 1   1   1 which by themselves look like a triad. Triads are found in Hinduism, Buddhism and Christianity. It, in of itself, is a powerful number and concept.

I am not into things which only work in our Arabic number systems. If there is any merit to what you say it must work in any system, e.g. binary and Roman.
The same goes for plucking words apart to give it special meaning. If it only works in English but not any other language it is no good.
