Can quietness be nasty?
My impression of the great I AM and meditation is that it can turn quietness and silence quite nasty. Imagine a huge force field which surrounds earth which is comprised of utter silence, but that silence has no benevolent qualities what so ever.
Is there such a thing as good quietness or malevolent quietness? Hindus describe God as neutral. Neither good nor bad - just perfect. Is that neutral silence in fact malevolent? |
could it be you are tapping into the isolation of it? and that in itself is a then prison?

I have practiced such silence in the beach, and found that it helped me to see the beauty of nature and the sunsets better . Usually, indulgence in narratives, thoughts and emotions prevent me from such observation. Nondual perception brought about by meditation helped to bring about 'neutral silence' as you state and reduce the mental noise. I consider it good for my mental health. 'Malevolent quietness' can be termed as physical silence coupled with an overactive mental process that does not cease at will, and ignores the flowers, waves and sunsets. |

quietness

I agree with others . Quietness accompanied by bliss , peace , harmony ,energy , empathy is always benevolent . I do recognize sometimes the quietness comes with unease , worries , helplessness etc and that in my opinion is just surreal quietness and may be malevolent also . Further God may appear neutral but He has a slight bend towards positivity & goodness just like aircraft may look horizontal when in flight mode but its actually slightly facing towards sky . |

What it is is a place filled with unease, worry and helplessness, etc." I mean, c'mon. It's a place of the the lower ego self...and all it's chatter, effecting emotions...the unwanted feelings that the ego loves! |

I don't know about God being 'neutral' -- but, I think that as soon as we (Human Beings) think 'perfect' then our mind tells us (truthfully or falsely) that there also must be 'imperfect' (duality consciousness). Oneness does not mean 'neutral' but it does mean 'no opposition'. |

Still, I will stick with: Feelings like the bolded above are not coming from MY Higher Self. (What I mean is - Joy, freedom, love, profound wisdom, compassion and contentment, laughter come from my Higher Self.) |
