Homer wrote about the ancient city of Troy of whose destruction some believe later inspired Plato but that's a long time in between since Homer lived some time between the 12th and 8th centuries BC.

Homer lived in ancient Greece which isn't that far from the Mediterranean Sea who some believe was the area that the Great Flood refers too. Great stone architecture has been found under the Mediterranean in amazing condition suggesting that it was flooded very quickly, not over a long period of time.
