Crazy 11 synchronisation.

My birth date is the 11th September 1990.. on my 11th birthday on the 11th of September to my horror I witnessed the attack on the twin towers which also resemble the number 11. Now that is 11/11/11.. I'm not actually familiar with the reasoning behind why people consider the number to be special in synchronized patterns so maybe you could explain to me?
