Hi
I was spending the weekend with my wife in a hotel in Miami beach and suddenly, while laying on a pool chair, saw this phenomenon that I initially thought that was a complete circle rainbow but later found out it is called a solar halo.

enjoy the pic

A circular rainbow is exactly what it is.

i have investigated the terms.
a "solar halo" or "lunar halo" are parhelic circles which run parallel to the earths horizon, at the elevation of the sun or moon.
a "circle rainbow" around the sun or moon is simply referred to as a halo.
it is noted that the interior of the halo is typically "crisper"/sharper, and that a red tinge is inside, a blue shade outside (of the ring).
all of these phenomena are attributed to local upper atmospheric ice crystals.

nice pic.
