Things turning on automatically

This week, I've had my bedroom TV turn on by itself. Last night, my computer monitor turned on too. I live alone, and I doubt the dog did it.

I have been home bound for a month and a half recuperating from a fall. My mood has been up and down. I've been doing self Reiki most days and meditating. I've always got my nose in a spiritual book.

No one close to me has died recently, so I don't think that a dead relative is trying to get my attention. Any suggestions?

This sort of thing happens. It is mysterious, and people have various theories about these things.

You may get some interesting replies to this thread you've started, Tail11.

But I'll also mention there have been at least several threads about this on SF since I've been a member. Try using the search function. Try terms like electronics, lights, on. You could try adding in my name (Tanemon) because I've posted onto at least two or three of the threads.

I feel this sort of thing is a rather common phenomenon.
The television in my bedroom would occassionally turn itself on also, when I'd be in this space.
Then when it was out of order for two years, not plugged in, it would make expansion-contraction sounds everytime I'd be in the room.

Above my kitchen sink, there's a row of spot lights. Whenever I'm using this lighting while washing dishes, it never ceases to flicker. Two out of three spots always seem to burn out shortly after being replaced.

My energy field is very strong...perhaps yours is also.

Hope 33 - I must be incredibly strong, because I was standing at the kitchen sink and I kept hearing something. I was floored when I went in to my bedroom to find my TV on! These things haven't happened to me before. I am a Reiki master and have set the intent on going to a Karuna Reiki course next month. I know my vibrations are increasing for that energy to come.

Your spot lights sound like they may have a short in them, especially since they burn out quickly. I suggest to you to have it looked at!

I have been doing a lot of self work, now that I have a lot of time on my hands. I will use this as a benchmark that I'm doing right by the universe.

I know I'm not the first to experience such things, and I have a lot of company. I am trying to figure out why it started now and if it has anything to do with my injury. Or the fact that I've been home for awhile. I am wondering what the trigger is.

I've had the TV turn on and off and also change Chanel's seemingly by its self.. It's my husband on the other side .. He has confirmed this to me by doing so when I have asked him to! Our loved ones ares always with us.

seriously though, it could be a deceased friend or relative, doesn't have to be a recently deceased one .... or it could be that spirit is trying to get your attention for some reason

I started to learn about this through a book about a well-known spiritual healer's life, maybe four or five years ago. Then I came across things like this mentioned on various online spiritual forums.

It seems to me, from a certain amount of personal experience, plus reading a accounts of this sort of thing, that there are at least two types of things that happen, which seem similar but may not be the same at all.

One is a definite on/off kind of situation with room lamps, TVs, appliances, etc. This is particularly interesting when the appliance or device turns on - a definite positive action. An occurrence where it seems a sort of message is being given.

The other is a sort of electrical interference - where a spiritually or psychically activated person finds that their personal energy seems to be causing an electrical device (TV remote controller, etc) to go haywire in its operation... to stop working properly for a certain period of time.

I will take the positives, as that is what I need most right now. Nothing else has magically turned on since those two, but I've been perked up about it and feeling better.

Well, the phenomenon was mentioned as part of the author's autobiography in the book titled The Reconnection (by Eric Scott Pearl). Lamps and other electrical things turning on by themselves was by no means any sort of theme in the book, but was simply mentioned as something the author felt was significant when he was in a certain phase leading up to his being a healing channel.

If you want a book that looks at the mysterious occurrence itself, I don't now of one. Could be one exists, or a chapter in a book on paranormal phenomena, I don't know.
