What is divination?

Ever since I came to this forum this section has been bugging me like a nasty stain between the teeth that I just can't get out...:brushteeth:

What exactly is divination? And how is this different from ascension?

It is the practice of seeking knowledge and answers to your questions via means other than physical, for example using the Tarot cards or a pendulum or scrying mirror etc.

When performing divination you're often in the alpha state of consciousness but it's not quite the same as the vibrational change of ascension, at least to my way of thinking.
