Beginners guide to penduluming

I wondered whether you had any tips and advice as to what to do and what not to do?

I have a pendulum too but I only know a couple of basics. I know that the energy used to move a pendulum comes from you and that you can only really use it for "Yes" and "No" answers, with "Yes" being a swinging to the left and "No" being backwards and forwards. I'm sure some other members can give you some better advice though :smile:

It's going to be my christmas project, I'll be away on holiday in my fave part of the world and so will have the chance to be quiet and still (and sun-kissed) and so will be in a positive mindset to pendulum (is that a verb?)

I probably shouldn't be looking at the Osiris pendulum (on the link in this thread) ... seeing as I'm inexperienced with pendulums ...

But for the future ....
I wonder if I can use it with astrology somehow when trying to pinpoint with more accuracy how symbols manifest personally for someone.
I'm not interested in using it for physical healing or therapy.

And ... when it says it must be secured with aluminium foil .. does that mean 'covered up' with foil?

I have a Bloodstone one. Its very strong but too what I found it that if one uses the non prodominate hand the reply is better and more accurate. Too be clear on what one asks that it is pure in a yes or no reply being able to be given. I asked a question and got yes over and over again. Even to the point of when and event would come to pass ( as I was also told of this by a few sensitive people I know ) for it not to happen. So I asked on if it was "wishful thinking" on the part of me to get the fastest YES I could ever have got.

It showed me to be careful in what one wishes for as it might well be just that "wishful thinking" and not what one gets in the end.

I got a quartz pendulum. It is my first time doing this, I tried to follow certain steps in order to harmonise the pendulum with my energy, by doing previous exercises, and by getting focus and asking obvious questions with YES or NO answers, trying to find out the meaning of its movements. My point is that the pendulum goes most of times to the left, including cases when the response is obviously YES and obviously NO. The difference is that such movement includes ALL YESs and several NOs. So I think that such movement should be YES, but I am not sure... Bottom line, I feel that I cannot rely on the pendulum yet.

What do you think? Am I doing anything wrong or maybe my talents are not enough to acquire this particular skill?

My experience....

(VERY happy to be corrected BTW I'm certainly no expert)

1) Don't try to dowse whislt you are tired.

2) The questoins are all important......ensure they are clearly defined.

3) I dowse (pendulum) using the weight in my right hand ......letting it point to my open left hand outstretched underneath (of that makes sense)

4) Never use the words "should I" (apart from the initial "may I" etc etc)

5) Don't dowse for profit!
