We need to start "the most beautiful women/men in the world" threads again.

So I'm going to kick off with....Mother Teresa

The most beautiful woman is my woman. She takes great care of me (even more than my mother), she brightens my day when it's a very bad one, and when the day is about to wrap up, I always look forward to crawling in bed with her to wrap up the day. She makes me laugh, I make her laugh, she keeps a smile on my face without asking anything in return. There is nothing more in the world or even "the other side" I love than her, she is my Heaven, she is my paradise, if anything I will be spending eternity with her out in the outskirts of everything.

To be beautiful, one shouldn't have to do so many great things and be noticed for them, they don't have to be some major icon either, they can be an average citizen like you or me and still be the most beautiful (and yet unrecognized) person in the world.

V cool...I absolutely agree. If it wasn't somewhat sacriligious, I would nominate Thich Nhat Hanh and the Dali Lama, just for starters, on the men's page. Maybe I will just do anyway. Because what makes ppl beautiful anyway? Truly beautiful? I think this is it.

I believe there are many out there. One up and coming actress that I find so beautiful that I've joked she could turn me bisexual (not lesbian because I'm in love with her boyfriend right now :D ) because she's so gorgeous (IMO), her name is Freida Pinto and yes she doesn't neccessarily have an equal beauty to her Indian/Bollywood counterpart Ashwayi (spelling), but I believe both actresses are 10s in their own way. Sorry I don't have a picture but just engine search her.

To me, the real beauty is inner vibe, and it is very evident. I have trouble being moved by some beauties on the cover of the magazines because they don't radiate to me. On the other hand, someone who is not that exceptional by looks can have a dramatic effect on me.

That being said...
I want to share someone who I had a girl-crush on for the longest time, since her appereance in "Battlestar Galactica" TV series... Katee Sackhoff. She is not only a great actress, but very laid-back of a person.

oh come on guys, Britney Spears has mental issues. I can related I too have bipolar but it's rapid cycling and I know how she feels. I think people with bipolar are very very emotional, so I also appreciate watching her emotionally and I love how she doesn't care that she's being so public about it.

Britney? Really? Interesting...she probably would've been the last person to cross my mind as being the most beautiful woman in the world. I think she has serious mental issues though that could media that pushed her to the edge. But that's just me...

Heidi Klum- I think the romance with her husband is beautiful and is a testimony to her loving nature

To me Jolie is way too skinny for my taste.
How about this, how about ALL women are beautiful. I say take something you don't like about yourself (eg I hate my bulging eyes) and look at it not as ugly but as very beautiful and unique :)

true true, i agree with that and makeup does so much for a person. But the inner beauty is what i see as well like ange doing so much charity work and britts emotions and addictive aura and M.I.A.'s passion and depth. i guess when it comes to all around beauty(even though everyone has an immense amount of inner beauty)I choose

I dont think there is a "most beautiful" woman in the world...they are all equally beautiful! There are however some women that appeal to me more than others. Its only a matter of vibrational preference.

I like the singer Sade. She has this sexual/sensual aura about her that is expressed amazingly in her music.

Classic beauty, aging gracefully. I remember a young Lee Remick from years ago. She was starring in a movie with Paul Newman filmed in and around my sister's small town in Oregon. The locals who saw he all said she was so strikingly beautiful you could barely speak in her presence...! And this too was without makeup and just running around. I think Michelle Pfeifer is like that as well and probably looks better in person than she does on screen. She has an inner light that shines through, don't you think?

You know what's really surprised me here, is how you've all gone for megastars. To me beauty comes from the inside and not from the out. Yes OF COURSE we all want to look good, that's the ego part .. but if your looking for TRUE BEAUTY .. not ONE of the women have said .... ME. I AM BEAUTIFUL. That's not being vain. It's being WORTHY. It's about being confident with who and what you are :) ... just my two pennorth :) ... slinks out again .... pops back in ... and for the record .. who do I think is the most beautiful woman in the world? My daughter, my mum, and my nanna. Namaste J xxx

Oh, and if we're doing stars, then the ultimate has to be (for me anyway) Princess Diana. Beautiful on the inside and the out. A true Gem. x

I think Kate Winslet is gorgeous for a celebrity. She has a really natural, healthy glow about her and seems to be a really healthy role model. Other than that I think Mother Mary and Magdelane are pretty special. Mother mary has such a pure, unconditional love and Magdelane is really empowering.

I appreciate the inner beauty over outer one; actually it doesn't matter to me at all what people look like - it is their energy that counts. One of the most beautiful women I know is the President of Finland, Tarja Halonen. She has my admiration and respect for many reasons, for example for standing up to the gays' rights before she entered politics - she is not gay, but has inbuilt wisdom of what is fair and what is unfair.
Here she is shaking hands with Ville Valo, the lead vocalist of HIM, who is also an interesting personality. BTW, Ville's surname, Valo, means Light in English. :hug3:

When someone says the word 'beautiful', what comes to mind? Pleasing, well-proportioned, without blemishes, good-looking, wonderful, delightful, scenic, picturesque, striking (with some help from Word2010's thesaurus).
Most of them seem to refer to at least some visual context and beautiful certainly has this connotation in my mind.

Internal beauty is an after-thought added for political correctness.

A true Gem. x
:hug2: I completely agree!
my grandma is one beautiful woman inside and out. :)

I think Lady Gaga is a not just beautiful in her own way- but very empowering and she spreads such a great message to people who need it, myself included...

"I'm beautiful in my way
Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track
Baby I was born this way"

That and she's completely dominating the music industry... lol!

I can call em' out from a mile away this lady ga ga thinks she is better than all her "little monsters"

Well that's a very big judgment. I respectfully disagree with you, as most people don't like her for lack of information of who she is and what she's about.

If I was as talented as her I'd think I was better too

Hi, and who can't love Mother Teresa? Her soul was indeed so beautiful. But if we are talking about celebs, then I actually do think Cheryl Cole is quite stunning, although she has had work "done". So going back to Hollywood and that era, I think the young Elizabeth Taylor was quite beautiful, all natural beauty, no cosmetic surgery, no airbrushing. And lastly, for me at this moment in time, I think "pink" is really beautiful. I love her music, but when I see her face I think it is perfect. And yes, I am a little in love with her lol....

Hollywood and its continuously changing of make-up designed screen faces can hardly make a claim to any of those 'stars' being termed beautiful. The world is otherwise full of lovely women and lovely faces of all creeds, races and colours. Most of whom, when seen on the streets, don't have 'stuff' spread all over their faces.
In the role I play as an 'Elderly Gentleman' in my late years my eyes wander constantly to the many and varied faces and figures I see around me in my daily life. One of my remaining pleasures so to speak.

It has to be said, people today, in general, are much more attractive than past generations. Due in the main to better foodstuffs and better basic care. Although some of those 'white teeth' tend to make one's stomach churn!!

My interest lies mainly in the connection between physical loveliness and what might be called spirituality. Up until now I have no reason to think that beauty creates harmony, in people I mean, but it seems obvious that anyone who is herself/himself happy with his/her own world will be a happier and therefore more pleasant person. In other words harmony creates beauty and I have long been of the opinion that the outward appearance of each individual reflects the inner values which are to be found in the deeper recesses of what we tend to call the 'soul'.

Like everything else there are exceptions but evolution may not be as blind as we tend to think.

Hi Busby. When I think back to the "old " Hollywood actors ( and as a child I had a book of them, which I used to pore over and see the beauty in both male and female images)... I just think in my mind that these beings were more naturally beautiful than today's images you see in modern day images. Bearing in mind I am a former newsagent and am used to seeing all the celebs splashed about all over the place, all with " plastic surgery", " breast enhancement" , "work do e" etc. You get my point. Back in the day , what you got was what you saw. Just natural beauty. ( Ok yes make up). But actually, I feel happy that you take pleasure in looking at the attractive young women of today's society. And dont get me wrong, there are many of them up and down the high street. But real beauty comes from within...

A lot of big names on here..

I like Katie McGrath, playing Morgana in the Merlin series.
She plays a powerful, feminine woman ((a rarity in entertainment these days)).

One woman comes to my mind.

She was tall and thin, wearing tight fitting black pants and a tight fitting white blouse. While we danced at a Buddhist temple during the day time at a New Year's celebration, she had a bottle of rice wine or rice whiskey and would hold my nose shut as she poured the booze down my throat.

I have always wondered if she was also the one who was feeding me the previous night and asked me if I wanted to go into the host's home and have some fun.

I never did get her name.

I have an 'elemental crush' (I being an elemental soul) on some witches from the show Penny Dreadful. In particular the ones who 'showed their true forms' (they were on the opposing side of the 'good witch', but I was struck by how beautiful they were to me, even if others would find them repulsive or whatever).

I also find 'goth women' beautiful and have had dreams in past years of the 'goth community' helping me - even though in physical life I have no communication or connection with any goth community (I live in rural P.A.). They were always helpful, kind, compassionate, understanding, and nurturing.

Interesting posts - beautiful looking or truly beautiful in nature/soul/essence?
This was the very topic that caused me to pen a free verse poem called

Looking Good?

What to wear (or not to?)
knowing clothes speak
complementing, betraying,
shielding, revealing
...ourselves?

Images - absorbed imperceptibly, constantly
- that we all 'buy'
shaping choices, constantly
pausing seldom to separate the cloth
from the person,
the body from the soul

Sleek skin, hollowed cheek, seductive mouth
image-selling, image-sought
and - if found - is prone to disappoint
since beautiful wrapping, once undone
often reveals an
unexpectedly vacant interior
....and a fool

A myriad of visual feasts
await to captivate,
mass-media tinsel
reflecting in its consumers.

Plainly-wrapped precious gifts
are rendered inferior,
perhaps never to be seen
....or shared
in a world that prefers
the beautiful-looking
to the beautiful.

Those models and stars are all nice and yet...

So are these everyday women -
My friend J for her strength and positivity and adaptability when facing challanges
My friend T for her kindness, self acceptance and her warm smile
My Mum for her quirkyness, honesty and loyalty
My sister for her humour and her unique spirit
My other sister for her ability to pull others through a crises, she thrives in crises situations and always knows what to do!

An old friend from school who was very beautiful and popular and who always had a smile for me and time to stop in the street for a chat. (we were in very different social circles)

My friend A who lives each day, owning herself - even her flaws shine as she owns them brilliantly

I have so many supportive and wonderful women in my life.

Absolutely...
And where as I can fully appreciate true beauty ( and I mean true natural beauty... Not this air brushed rubbish etc )... I can recognise even more the beauty of one's soul... Beauty that comes out from within and radiates far wider than a mere magazine page, or social media site....
True beauty shines out and radiates across the whole of the universe...and beyond !!

I agree :hug3:

Beautiful people can sometimes be "ugly"... Though I have not met very many in my lifetime.
I know plenty of women though who natural beauties inside and out.

I live in a multicultural beach town and meet all kinds of amazing people from all walks of life, all different shapes and sizes, all different ages and nationalities, cultures and more. I love how different and unique we all are.
The thing that stands out to me is people's inner confidence and embracing self acceptance.

They radiate from the inside out! It is really beautiful!

Elfin

To Red ...
Yes completely agree... ( The only "ugly" is ones personality)
True beauty is when a person looks right into your eyes and gives you the biggest smile.
And that smile lights up their whole face, and they are beaming.
And then you glance down and see they are strapped into a wheelchair with no limbs.
That is true beauty...
