What's your favourite charity? If you won a fortune and wanted to donate to a good cause what would it be? And why?

I am making a small monthly donation to Amnesty. I don't agree with them in everything, but they are fighting injustice and who else does these days who aren't on a government paycheck?

Tiger Haven, a big cat no kill shelter. They take big cats that people had as pets, when they realize they cannot take care of them. Reminds me I need to send another donation.

Cornwall Air Ambulance. They have to raise their own money to run their helicopters and yet most of the other counties in the country have theirs paid for by the government! Seems so stupid as Cornwall is such a rural county and the air ambulance is needed nearly every day!

One charity for all life on this planet, not just a selected charity for one and not the other, I don't give to children with cancer, I give to the cancer organization.

If I had a lot of money I'd put up a pet shelter... :) Then support charity foundations that have the same goal...

EDIT: I mean animal shelter...

The SPCA, as I'm an animal lover. The Salvation Army, they do good work.

My problem with donating to the Cancer Society, is they have a huge administration, only a portion of what they take in goes towards research.

gernerally kids and animals. i avoid giving to research charities due to a dislike of modern medicine/big pharma etc..
