I am interested in developing some degree of psychic skills long term.
I have never noticed that i have had any mediumistic ability in my youngers years but due to upbringing would never have been opened to this area anyway.

Since embarking on my spiritual journey i have been more and more interested in mediumship as a side line to my own spiritual path.

Is it possible for everyone to develop a certain degree of pshyic skill through dedication and concentration do you think?

My meditations have been quite rewarding with images presented to me from time to time that have definate personal meaning.

Are there methods that can be used to train this ability - for example clairvoyance?

Hello mattstar,

Meditation goes a long way to help you develop so I'd say carry on doing that.

It is certainly possible for anyone to develop psychic skills. In fact we all have psychic abilities but due to socialisation and the way we're brought-up we're quickly told to forget about these abilities. Think about children, they're not as brainwashed as adults are and are pure and they can see spirits and some even have imaginary friends-so they have the abilities but they are encouraged to forget them by parents, teachers and other figures.

Clairvoyance is an excellent way to develop your abilities!!

Intuition also plays a major part in helping you to develop. A lot of times we get gut-feelings or sometimes hear voices or see some signals but tend to ignore them but these things are a way of showing us things but we often put it down to just imagining things. Look at people who do readings for example, they hear voices and sometimes think that they're imagining things-when they first start out that is-but it's only because of doubt in their own abilities.

Perhaps there are things you can sense but maybe they are so subtle or different to what you believe that you brush them away as not being important.

The important thing to do is to keep a journal of any events that happen, write these things down in your journal and pay attention to your dreams.

If you get a certain feeling about someone but you think it's nonsense then try to find out if your instincts are true by asking him/her discreet questions-you might be surprised by the awnsers you get:)

Above all be open to this and keep an open-mind. Let go of worries and doubts and let go of needing a logical and reasonable explanation for everything.

I wish you all the best and maybe someone else can help you more than I can:)

Take care and lots of positive energy:)

Thanks for the reply!

The meditation for me, seems to be where its at at the moment - and the once monthly development circle which i also go to - i find the senses (particularly the ears) seem to be adjusting the most and sounds i wouldnt normally notice i do (especially after circle/meditation) for example in a crowded room of people its amazing how many conversations i seem to tune into and am very aware of the direction in which noises come from etc

As the old saying goes rome wasnt built in a day im sure rings true - and afterall i guess if it was that easy to develop - everyone would be doing it!!

ljepotica has given excellent advice.

The real problem with mediumship is the difficulty of knowing what is imagination and what is from spirit, or to put it another way, FEAR. False Evidence Appearing Real.
I have only a handful of attempted medium reads and every single one I have done I have questioned after wether it was my imagination or not, even when the information is accepted by the sitter.
In some ways I think it is good to keep questioning in this way, it kind of gives you an edge to keep working at better communication.
This is slightly off topic though...

I have been told that one of the best methods of developing mediumship is to work on your psychic mind, as spirit can only use whatever information is in your own head, and psychic practise is like a work out for the brain strengthening your skill so it is a better tool for spirit to work with.

Mediumship works on a higher vibration of energy than psychic so I was told that a medium should not neglect their psychic practise as it is like trying to run before you can walk.

I am not developed enough to offer more advice on beginning mediumship than this, but I hope this makes sense and is of use.

Good luck to you.

Attuning to personal guides is important to the development. In this way, you form a partnership and the trust can be developed over time and practice.

When we attune to all and sundry spirit, we are open to so many vibrations and then it takes longer to establish a trust factor.

God bless, J
