Oneness is connecting w/ all energies, both those 'above' us & those 'below' us. Above doesn't mean better & below doesn't mean bad or lesser, but simply their dimensional level.

To connect with the elemental spirits...we have much to learn from them as well as the heavenly beings. If we all could connect with them, we would be able to learn how to look after this wonderful planet so much better.

Thank you mattie and AO for your replies.

And thanks for the clarification on oneness mattie, I wasn't at all referrring to above or below being better or bad. Just true curiousity in general in my original question.

Hello

They are a part of the Univeral plane. Maybe at times as interested in us as we be of them. Validations of being real or thought on as real.

Energy exchange mostly.

Interesting to note that when I do an Angel card reading for myself, the past few days I have been getting the card " Connect with the Faeries ". Yet, I am not really drawn to connecting with them. I don't want them to feel that I am ignoring the invitation, it is just that I am not " feeling " the connection.

I know that card, but my deck isn't here with me at the moment...maybe they are letting you know that they are willing to connect with you, when you are ready?

In most Celtic, ancient in particular, cultures people left offerings and gifts to the fair-folk because it was a mutual contract between the people the fairies. In the old Irish myth of the coming of the Milesians (humans), they had defeated the Tuatha De Danaan (gods) and entered an agreement that Ireland was to be split in half, the Sons of Mil having everything above the ground, and the De Danaan having everything below it. And it was considered customary to give the first milking to the hill-dwellers, along with other food items in order to stay in relatively good faith with them, otherwise the crops wouldn't grow and livestock would become sick. Such traditions eventually evolved into the later concepts of fairies, both seelie (mostly nice if treated good) and unseelie (not so nice) courts, and so forth.

But somehow I doubt that most people who speak of connecting with or getting to know the good folk are wanting to avert a bad harvest :D So it goes to show how things can be radically changed when it comes to what stands behind a name.

I have always known fairies to be mischievous and child-like. They are drawn to me, and I had to give them a place to play. I was getting annoyed by them, they made things go missing.

oh oh, this could explain a few missing items ! I lost a book once, just shortly after I bought it... so I bought a second one, same book. Then that one went missing too ! :icon_eek: A year or so later, found the first book, still missing the second one. And I have a missing crystal or two.

"Typically when we talk about faeries we think of Ireland, and their are stories galore about the wee folk that originate from Irish culture. Did you know that the word “Faeries” is actually a french word meaning the land? Take it back further in time and you will find latin origin, with the word “fata” meaning guardian spirit.

Fata, in old world definition, is also derived from the word Fatum, which means a decision, a course set."

This is how I was raised...we always had to "appease" them - in my mom's words (she is mostly Irish) and with my dad it was "don't make them jealous", he was mostly Slovak. I don't know what kind of elementals that region of the world has but he would refer to them as spirits....

And DreamAngel, I am always getting things borrowed. I am still waiting for my carnelian to come back :icon_frown: They did bring back my flourite, though!

Zmiling Gooroo, are you following me ? That was a quick deit ! LOL !

Your inzait is always velcome . Most interesting on the land and guardian spirits connection. Yes, makes sense then the connection with Mother Earth. I knew you would find a way to bring crystals into the conversation :D

"Eintzel ov Drimz" ~ would you believe this took me a few trys to figure this out ? :angel10:

hi scorpiowitch ! Most interesting on the different lines of thinking from different countries, as whether to appease or not to upset.

On waiting for your carnelian, maybe you don't need that anymore ? I have heard that sometimes when crystals have done what they were here to help with, they somehow disappear ( now we know how they disappear ! ) I have heard the Faeries enjoy sweet treats, perhaps you could persuade them, with a cookie or two to return your carnelian to you ?

in English, translated as bribery, lol !

I know, I know...both explanations could work but I REALLY loved it and it was one of my firsts, so it is special. I tried bribery and it didn't work...I have dogs so leaving sweet treats would not make it to the faeries, lol...An exchange has worked for my sister with some bracelets

oh you are right, won't work if you have dogs in the house.

just curious, how does an exchange work with your sister, if you don't have the crystal to exchange with ?

Actually, it was some of her bracelets that had disappeared. I don't remember what she offered in exchange but she set up a pretty little place to entice them and put whatever she wanted to exchange in it... She has dogs AND cats so I am guessing she didnt put out cakes, lol.

Oops, sorry if I was unclear.

It did pop a cute little thought into my mind.... What if there were familial faeries that came along for the ride when you are visiting relatives and they could visit too... Sorry, I guess that is the little kid in me :D

Adrienne

why connect with the faerie?
they are our forebearers, guardians of us and the planet, teachers, they are known as "the people of the peace" because other tribes (milesians in the case of the tuatha de danann mythology) forced them into war, yet after a few battles, instead of commiting further slaughter on their cousins and losing their kin and also in their refusal to surrender they laid down thier arms and vowed to be seen in the lands of men no more (went underground, as the saying goes) although they are always with us, helping, guiding us and reign in the places where the lands are truely wild.

I like to connect with them because I think of them as my spiritual family from the realms next to our realm. Ever since seeing that faery face to face-- I want these Beings to know that my home is there home. I try to make things comfortable for them within my home by bringing Nature into my living areas-- lots of rocks, crystals, twigs, bowls of pinecones and acorns, seashells, etc.. are used in my decorating.

A few times I have heard them speak to me while I was half asleep/half awake in the morning.

I make things attractive here for humans- but also for the Faery as well. Their faery garden is always so lush to no credit of my own--We had a drought last year and it was still lush.

The way to connect with these Beings is through the heart. Once your heart is connected with them, you can't help but love them and you sense them in various areas in Nature. You also find that when you share a deep connection of love with them like that-that you want what they want and you want this Earth to be how they long for it to become. You also suffer emotionally with them when a tree gets needlessly cut down, or someone ran over an animal. Things that you didnt pay any attention to like that mean something more to you and you share in their burden for this Earth. You become part of their family.
