You'll see why I'm asking this later, but for now I'm asking if anyone here has ever heard of such a thing?

Raptor Witness, no I have never heard of such a thing, the thought comes to mind of "throw your fortunes to the wind", not sure what connection that might have if any. I am curious to hear, the rest of your story.

That's what I have found in my general research. I'll have to wait until I can post links here to give more details of my curious experience, but generally I made a strange prediction, which included the following statement, before I had done any research on the practice, or knew anything about how it was done.

"If you really want to read these tea leaves, just throw them into the air." - Feb. 19, 2011

So basically, I was saying this without any knowledge of the practice in my active subconscious or memory. It was sort of an off the cuff statement, but often when I do this, especially with what are "unexpected" concepts and especially results, it can add significantly to the odds of an arguably successful prediction, because it is outside the norm to begin with.

I'll present more on "unexpected" results in predictions in other areas of the forum, later on, but this curious statement that I believe became part of history led me to learn more on how the practice was done, through both written research and on YouTube. So now that I have a general understand of the practice, I figured some here might know more, and needed to ask the question to verify what I have found.

The bottom line is that it's an odd thing to say, based upon my initial research.

By the way, it would appear, but someone can perhaps tell me, that you do not allow for active embedding of YouTube or other video based material here, is that correct?

If so, that's a shame, as it can add to much of what I'll be presenting.

if you go down to the basics of it, you can read anything you like!, from patterns on a wall to the shape of clouds or the way in which animals move. you just need to learn how to interpret what you see.
