Jnana Yoga is the Yoga of the intellect, where intellectual inquiry is used to understand the nature of reality as it is, or to attain Self-knowledge or nondual perception. Ramana Maharshi, H.W.Poonja, Nisargadatta Maharaj, Dr. Jean Klein, Robert Adams were famous Jnana Yogis.

A link (http://www.ramaquotes.com/html/jnana_yoga.html)on insightful sayings on Jnana Yoga by Dr. Frederick Lenz is put here for better basic comprehension of Jnana Yoga or the path of intellectual inquiry...

Of the four major pathways to self-realization, jnana yoga, from the point of view of the beginner, is the most difficult.

To practice jnana yoga, the yoga of knowledge and discrimination, it's necessary to have a highly developed mind.

Discrimination involves reflection and absorption.

We have to constantly ask ourselves: "Who am I?"

Discrimination, viveka, means you know the difference between the transient and the eternal. That's what discrimination means in Shankara's yoga.

The path of knowledge is said to be difficult in that it is the path of Samadhi.

It is impossible to know who you are until you enter into Samadhi.

Samadhi is the actual awareness of what you really are.

It is only in Samadhi that you'll begin to get an inkling of who you are; and finally, it is only in nirvana that this perfect truth will become clear.

Excellent...I loved that, very inspiring.
And thank you.

Knowing the difference between the transient and the eternal, aye, there's the rub; made easier
by Adyashanti's and other guru's sentence that goes like this:
"Anything you see with your eyes open is an illusion."
(Even the master teacher you may be sitting right in front of...saying that sentence!)
Clear lines, clear lines are so good.
This is not debatable, this is not speculative, it just 'is'.
Ah, the freedom.
