Elements and My Sign?

I have a question about how the elements are tied to our sign. I admit I know very little about astrology. I am a sagitarius and I believe the element associtated with this sign is fire. I have a very strong spiritual connection to the air element is there anyway this element is part of my sign, other then fire needs air to burn? :D I am looking forward to your responses.
